In November 2016, we announced that criminal defense attorney and partner Chris Clark had successfully persuaded the State of Tennessee to dismiss first degree murder charges against a client. Well, it has happened again.
On July 16, 2018, the State of Tennessee dismissed first degree murder and other serious felonies against a client. The client was charged in a six-count indictment that included four counts of first degree murder. “A full acquittal was the only option that we considered”, Clark stated. He continued, “We filed a series of motions intended to expose weaknesses in the State’s case to both the judge and prosecutor.” On the morning of trial, the State dismissed all charges.
This was Clark’s third first degree murder case to be dismissed in as many years. He credits the success to taking a team approach. His team also includes Associate Attorney Zach Talbot, who assisted with the motions in this matter. Clark further explained, “You can’t be afraid to go to trial. We made it known that we were focused on acquittal from the beginning. The prosecutor has to know that an attorney will not hesitate to go to trial.” Chris Clark is a seasoned trial lawyer with over fifty jury trials under his belt.
